Championship super computer predicts outcome of final table

A so-called super-computer has predicted the final outcome of the Championship table – and it’s no surprise to see who is backed to come out on top.

With 26 out of 46 matches played, the table is beginning to take shape, with Wolves setting a blistering pace at the top.

And it’s no surprise to see Nuno Espirito Santo’s side finish the season promoted to the Premier League – with the “just-for-fun” talkSPORT computer also backing Gary Rowett’s Derby to go up alongside them.

The predictor also makes good reading for fans of Aston Villa, Leeds, Cardiff and Middlesbrough who are all backed to contest the play-off places.

However, it’s not such good for the likes of Carabao Cup semi-finalists Bristol City, nor one-time pacesetters Sheffield United.

Here’s how the table is expected to finish…

EXCLUSIVE: Champ trio plot moves for 2m-rated Bradford striker

Bradford City are growing increasingly concerned they could lose star striker Charlie Wyke in January, sources have told TEAMtalk.

The 25-year-old, a product of Middlesbrough’s famed academy, and has been superb for the Bantams since joining in January 2017 – bagging 17 goals, including 10 this season.

Now we can reveal that a host of Championship clubs are ready to tempt Bradford – who are understood to be looking for in excess of £2million before they consider selling the prolific frontman.

Sunderland, Preston and Reading are all thought to be at the front of the queue to sign Wyke, while Burton have also checked on him in recent weeks, though the £2m asking price is beyond their finances.

Moyes confirms Wilshere interest as Reading defender is linked

West Ham boss David Moyes has admitted he could try to offer Jack Wilshere a route out of Arsenal in January.

Midfielder Wilshere has been largely limited to Europa League appearances and the occasional substitute role in the Premier League for the Gunners this season.

However, the 25-year-old is in line to start against West Ham on Wednesday night due to an injury to Aaron Ramsey.

Nevertheless, Wilshere has only six months left on his Arsenal deal and could be open to a move to gain more playing time and rekindle his World Cup ambitions with England.

Moyes, who believes the January transfer window is vital if West Ham are to climb away from relegation trouble, said: “Jack Wilshere would be someone who we’d have to look at if he was available.

“I also want to make sure we’re looking at players who can be at the club for a long period and not just in for a short period.

“Then there’s also the short-term fix for me which is how do we get enough wins between now and the end of the season? There’s a balance between that.

“That’s why those decisions will have to be mutually taken with (head of recruitment) Tony Henry, the chairman and myself to make the right deals.

“I’ve got an idea of where I need to strengthen. We’ve already said there’s a little bit of an imbalance but that can happen at football clubs.

“Could January be the difference between staying up and going down? I do believe it could.

“I think if the right players are available we should try and do something. If we can get the right players, that’s the big part of it.”

West Ham have also been linked with Gunners striker Olivier Giroud, another who has spent more time on the bench than on the field this season.

However, Moyes said: “We’ve got a lot of strikers so I think for us to be linked to strikers at the moment might not necessarily be the right thing.

“But who knows? I think Olivier Giroud is a talented footballer and has a record of scoring goals.”

Another man linked is Reading defender Liam Moore and it’s reported the Hammers had scouts in attendance on Monday night to check out the former Leicester defender in their 2-2 draw with Cardiff.

Paper Talk: Bayer reject 22m Chelsea bid; Sandro snubs Man Utd

Chelsea look likely to pip Man Utd in the race to sign a £80million-rated Juventus star, while Tottenham are battling Everton for a Hamburg striker, according to Wednesday’s papers.

CHELSEA BOOSTED AS MAJOR TARGET SIGNALS INTENT

Chelsea are in pole position to bag Juventus defender Alex Sandro from under the noses of Manchester United, according to reports on Wednesday.

The Brazil left wing-back has reportedly told Juve he wishes to leave the Serie A champions for the Premier League, with the Blues seeing a £50million bid turned down for him in the summer.

United’s quest to sign a new left-back had seen Jose Mourinho also linked with Sandro in recent weeks – but The Sun claims the former Porto defender will turn his back on any approach from the Red Devils in order to push through a move to Stamford Bridge.

However, any deal for Sandro will come at a cost with the report claiming Juve want an eye-watering £80million for the 26-year-old.

That would represent a world-record fee for a defender, but it seems Chelsea are ready to push the boat out to land their man, who has been a long-term target ever since Antonio Conte took charge at the Bridge.
