Arsenal dreamer reveals he?s received a Premier League offer

Shanghai SIPG striker Hulk has revealed that he has received an offer from an unnamed Premier League club while he has also had proposals from elsewhere.

The Brazilian international has been linked with a move to England for many years, especially before he made the move to the Chinese Super League.

Hulk, who earns around £320,000-a-week in China, recently declared his admiration for Arsenal and that he could be open to a future transfer to the Premier League.

“I always follow the league and I have always supported Arsenal,” said Hulk.

And the 31-year-old has now opened up about the various interest in him, including an offer from an English club.

“I received one contact from the Premier League and quite a few others from other countries,” said Hulk.

“I admire the Premier League very much and it’s considered not by accident the best league in the world.

“Of course I follow it but I am happy here. I have almost three more years on my contract so I am happy here.

“But one never knows in football, everything can happen and my agent receives contact from Europe, including from the UK.”

Paper Talk: Rivals join Man Utd for Schalke forward; WBA?s 11m raid

Manchester City are considering a move for a long-term Manchester United target, while Tottenham are plotting a shock raid on Premier League neighbours Watford, according to Tuesday’s newspapers.

Manchester City have joined the long list of admirers of Schalke forward Breel Embolo, according to reports.

The Daily Mail claims City are keeping a close eye on the striker and had scouts check on his performances for Switzerland as they edged past Northern Ireland to reach the World Cup finals.

The report doesn’t specify when City might make the move, but it’s presumed they are keeping an eye on the market amid concerns Sergio Aguero is ready to quit the club at the end of the season and return to La Liga, possibly with Real Madrid.

City’s neighbours United have had a long-term interest in the striker and were close to making a bid on him during his days at Basel.

Embolo since went on to sign for Schalke, where he has just returned to action after suffering a serious knee injury early on last season.

Paper Talk: Major Man Utd target heading elsewhere; Lanzini wanted

Manchester United face competition from Real Madrid for an €80m target, while Tottenham are being linked with a raid on West Ham, according to Saturday’s newspapers.

Real Madrid are ready to pay up to €80m (£71m) to land Paris Saint-Germain defender Marquinhos, according to reports.

The Daily Mirror claims the Brazilian has shot to the top of Zinedine Zidane’s wanted list in January as he plots some major signings to give his flagging Real Madrid side a boost.

Sergio Ramos’ form has dipped this season, while Raphael Varane has suffered a succession of injury issues, while Nacho and Jesus Vallejo are viewed as being too inexperienced to take the role of leading centre-back on a full-time basis.

Marquinhos has long been linked with Manchester United and Jose Mourinho was reported to have considered a move last summer, until hearing how much PSG were demanding.

However, that seems unlikely to put off Real Madrid. PSG, however, would fight to keep their defender, with his possible departure coming as a blow for Neymar, who has reportedly failed to settle in France.

Marquinhos is one of Neymar’s closest pals in the game and has been defending his compatriot.

“For everything Neymar has been doing on the pitch, whoever thinks he’s not [performing as expected] must be watching another game,” said Marquinhos.

“He’s a different player, a star, someone who instantly becomes a target for other players, for the press and fans.

“Just like all the other great players, [opinion] will never be unanimous. There will always be those who do not like him, and others who admire him.

“It’s important is to have character… Neymar has a good head on his shoulders, is very important for Brazil and we are all trying to help with his adaptation in Paris.

“I believe he has already adapted to the city and the club. He came to get titles and is a big player. You can’t please everyone in life, which is especially true for great stars.”

Paper Talk: Man Utd, Real in 120m swap; Arsenal eye 10m old boy

Manchester United are ready to let David De Gea finally join Real Madrid – but on one condition, while Chelsea are chasing a young Lyon defender, according to Tuesday’s newspapers.

Jose Mourinho is willing to sell Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea, 26, to Real Madrid – but only on one condition, according to reports.

The Daily Mirror, via Spanish outlet Don Balon, claims United will finally grant the player his dream return to La Liga – but only if French defender Raphael Varane is allowed to move in the opposite direction.

De Gea almost joined the European champions in the summer of 2015 only for the deal to collapse at the 11th hour due to a dodgy fax machine – but Real have stayed in constant contact with United about the player ever since.

And the worst kept secret in football will finally be granted next summer, and reports reckon a £120m swap deal could be finalised.

Real don’t want to lose Mourinho favourite Varane, 24, but that would be a small price to pay for landing De Gea, who has already kept 11 clean sheets in 15 appearances this season.

Paper Talk: Bundesliga duo to snub Man Utd, Liverpool for Barcelona

Barcelona are poised to beat Manchester United and Liverpool to two top targets, while Jack Wilshere will learn if he has an Arsenal future in a matter of weeks, according to Thursday’s newspapers.

Barcelona are hoping to sign striker Timo Werner, 21, and defender Dayot Upamecano, 19, from RB Leipzig during the January window, reports the Daily Mirror.

The La Liga giants’ technical director Robert Fernandez travelled to Germany at the weekend to scout the highly-rated duo and reports in Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo claims a bid for the £90million-rated duo is imminent.

Teenage defender Upamecano has been a long-term target for the Catalan side and is seen as a potential replacement for Gerard Pique, who is 31 in February.

He was scouted by United during his early years in League 1 with Valenciennes and while they have tracked him ever since, it is Liverpool who have most recently been linked.

Both United and Liverpool, meanwhile, have also been linked with Leipzig striker Werner, who has struck seven times so far this season.

The Germany striker has also been touted as a target for Real Madrid, but if reports in the Mirror and Mundo Deportivo are to be believed, it is Barcelona who will win the race for the highly-rated duo.
