Paper Talk: Real offer 100m & Bale for Chelsea ace; 25m for Smalling

Real Madrid are ready to offer Chelsea £100million plus a player exchange to get Eden Hazard, while Man Utd have named their price for Arsenal target Chris Smalling, according to Sunday’s newspapers.

REAL LOOKING TO LURE CHELSEA INTO HAZARD DEAL

Real Madrid will reportedly offer £100m plus Gareth Bale to tempt Chelsea into parting company with Eden Hazard in the summer.

The reigning La Liga champions are set for a massive summer revamp after a disastrous title defence this season, and Hazard is believed to be their top target.

Real will completely overhaul their squad, with a number of tops stars leaving, including Gareth Bale, while head coach Zinedine Zidane will also be axed.

Bale has been a long-term target for Manchester United but according to a report in the Sunday Express, Real will offer the former Tottenham winger plus £100m to try and lure Hazard to the Bernabeu.

Hazard, along with Blues stopper Thibaut Courtois, has been in new contract talks with the Blues for some time but the club have been unable to tie the pair down.

Now Real are hoping that the offer of Bale and a significant transfer fee will tempt Roman Abramovich into allowing one of prized assets to move on.

Hazard, himself, has admitted in the past that he one day dreams of playing for the Spanish giants, telling French TV channel Canal+ in Novmeber: “Everyone knows the admiration I have for Real, but for now I’m a Blue.”

The question now, however, is how much longer the 27-year-old will continue being ‘a Blue’.

Paper Talk: Man Utd, City to battle for 50m Maguire

Manchester United and City are ready to do battle for a £50m-rated Premier League defender, while a shock name has emerged to replace Antonio Conte at Chelsea, all in Saturday’s papers.

MAN UTD, CITY TO FIGHT FOR LEICESTER STAR

Manchester United and Manchester City are reportedly ready to lock horns over Leicester defender Harry Maguire.

The two Premier League giants are ready to go head-to-head for the England defender this summer, after United joined the race for the 24-year-old.

City have been chasing Maguire since the start of the season and despite landing £57m Aymeric Laporte from Athletic Bilbao, the Daily Mirror reports that Pep Guardiola still maintains an interest in the former Hull star.

United boss Jose Mourinho has already ruled out making any attacking signings in the summer transfer window, but it is common knowledge that he is looking to strengthen at the heart of United’s defence, with doubts over the futures of Chris Smalling, Phil Jones, Victor Lindelof and Marcos Rojo.

Maguire, who was signed from Hull for £17million last summer, still has over four years remaining on his Foxes contract and his value is now believed to have trebled to around £50m.

The report goes on to claim that Leicester are already planning for the potential loss of Maguire and have targeted 26-year-old Brighton stopper Lewis Dunk as his replacement.

Paper Talk: Pep gives Mahrez a lift; West Ham suffer striker blow

Mesut Ozil turned down a huge offer from China to remain at Arsenal, while Cristiano Ronaldo has named the four players he wants at Real Madrid, according to Thursday’s papers.

OZIL TURNED DOWN CHINA RICHES

Mesut Ozil is reported to have turned down a £435,000-a-week contract with a Chinese club before signing a new deal at Arsenal.

The Germany star was said to have been a major target for Guangzhou Evergrande, who were reportedly ready to pay the 29-year-old £22m-a-year.

The deal would have far exceeded his new contract at The Emirates, which is said to be worth £350,000-a-week.

Ozil would have been a free agent this summer but opted to stay with the Gunners after being impressed with their January transfer window additions.
